[TIPS] – SQL Server : Comment renommer le @@SERVERNAME de votre instance SQL

Petit « tips » pour finir la journée, nous verrons comment renommer la variable @@SERVERNAME de votre instance SQL. Si comme moi, une fois votre serveur SQL déployé, optimisé comme il se doit et prêt à en découdre avec vos développeurs, vous vous apercevez que le nom du serveur ne correspond pas à la « charte de nommage » entreprise…

Deux choix s’offrent ainsi à vous, soit vous décider de tout formater et de repartir de zéro, soit on modifie les noms proprement 🙂

Oui, il est bien possible de renommer son serveur une fois l’installation de SQL effectuée :

  1. Sortir le serveur de l’AD
  2. Renommer le serveur
  3. Intégrer le serveur à l’AD
  4. Suivre la procédure ci-après pour SQL

 

Depuis SSMS, exécutez la requête suivante pour vérifier la valeur de @@SERVERNAME :

SELECT @@SERVERNAME AS 'Server Name';

 

Saisissez ensuite les commandes suivantes :

sp_dropserver <OLD_SERVERNAME>
GO
sp_addserver <NEW_SERVERNAME>, local;
GO


 

Redémarrez l’instance SQL depuis SSMS (clique droit sur l’instance puis redémarrer) et contrôlez en saisissant de nouveau la première commande.

 

Si tout se passe bien votre instance SQL porte maintenant le bon nom de serveur.
