Hyper-V – Quoi de neuf avec Windows 10 ?

Hyper-V est arrivé sur les machines clientes avec la version 8 de Windows puis a été mis à jour lors de la sortie de Windows 8.1.Avec l’arrivée de Windows 10, Microsoft en a profité pour apporter un certain nombre de nouveautés, que l’on retrouvera surement du coté de la prochaine version serveur de l’OS, Windows Server 2016, prévue d’ici la fin de l’année.

Faisons le tour des nouveautés de cette nouvelle version « 6.2 » !

  • Une nouvelle « Version de configuration » qui passe en 6.2

Lorsque vous importerez une machine provenant d’une ancienne version d’Hyper-V, la version de configuration ne sera pas automatiquement mise à jour, de fait vous ne bénéficierais pas de toutes les nouvelles fonctionnalités présentés ci-dessous.

Hyper-V - Version configuration

Pour connaitre la version de configuration utilisé pour chaque VM :

Get-VM * | Format-Table Name, Version

Pour mettre à jour votre version de configuration :

Update-VmConfigurationVersion VM_Name

 

  • Un nouveau format pour les fichiers de configuration

Les machines virtuelles disposent désormais d’un nouveau format de fichier de configuration qui a été conçu pour augmenter l’efficacité de lecture et d’écriture des données de la machine virtuelle.

Il est également conçu pour réduire le risque de corruption de données s’il y a un problème de stockage.

Les nouveaux fichiers de configuration utilisent l’extension .VMCX pour les données de configuration de la machine virtuelle et .VMRS pour les données d’état d’exécution.

/!\ Les nouveaux fichiers .VMCX et .VMRS sont des fichiers binaire qu’il n’est plus possible de modifier. /!\

 

  • Mise à jour des outils d’intégration

Les outils d’intégrations seront désormais distribués et mis à jour par l’intermédiaire de Windows Update

 

  • Windows Powershell Direct

Cette nouvelle fonctionnalité permet d’exécuter des commandes powershell à l’intérieur de la machine virtuelle, directement depuis le serveur hôte. Cette nouvelle fonctionnalité requiert Windows 10 et Windows Server 2016 (en preview pour le moment)

Pour initier une session Powershell Direct il suffit d’exécuter les commandes suivantes :

Enter-PSSession -VMName VM_Name
Invoke-Command -VMName VM_Name -ScriptBlock { commands }

 

  • Ajouter ou supprimer des adaptateurs réseau et de la mémoire, a chaud !

Il est désormais possible d’ajouter ou de retirer des adaptateurs reseau sans avoir a eteindre la machine. Cette fonctionnalité est disponible pour les machines virtuelles de génération 2 uniquement, Windows ou Linux.

Il est également possible d’ajuster la quantité de mémoire allouée à une machine virtuelle pendant son exécution, même si la mémoire dynamique n’est pas activée. Cela fonctionne pour les générations 1 et 2.

 

  • Management d’Hyper-V amélioré

Prise en charge de plusieurs informations d’identification : Il est désormais possible d’utiliser un ensemble différent d’informations d’identification dans le Gestionnaire Hyper-V lorsque vous vous connectez à un hôte distant. Il est également possible d’enregistrer ces informations d’identification de sorte qu’il soit plus facile de se connecter pour la prochaine fois.

Gestion de plusieurs versions d’hyperviseur : Avec le gestionnaire Hyper-V embarqué dans Windows 10, il est désormais possible de gérer plusieurs version d’hyperviseurs (Windows Server 2012, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 R2 et Windows 8.1).

Mise à jour du protocole de gestion : Le gestionnaire Hyper-V a été mis à jour afin de communiquer avec les hôtes Hyper-V, à distance, en utilisant le protocole WS-MAN, qui permet de gérer CredSSP, Kerberos ou encore NTLM. Lorsque vous utilisez CredSSP pour vous connecter à un hote Hyper-V vous pouvez effectuer une « Live Migration » sans avoir activer la délégation dans Active Directory. Le protocole WS-MAN simplifie également la configuration pour permettre la gestion d’un hote à distance. Enfin WS-MAN utilise le port 80 pour se connecter.

 

  • Linux secure boot

Plus de machines virtuelles fonctionnant sous Linux peuvent désormais utiliser le secure boot. L’option est disponible à partir d’Ubuntu 14.04 et plus récent, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12. Avant de démarrer la machine virtuelle pour la premiere fois,  il faut dire à la machine virtuelle d’utiliser le « Microsoft UEFI Certificate Authority » en utilisant la commande Powershell suivante :

Set-VMFirmware VM_Name -SecureBootTemplate MicrosoftUEFICertificateAuthority
